What is your capacity?
Our max capacity is 299. There is a specific seating plan for maxed out weddings. 275 or less is more comfortable.
Do you have a bar minimum?
We do NOT enforce a bar minimum. Poplar Creek has a liquor license and a full service bar with licensed bartenders included. For more information on bar pricing and packages, contact us via phone or email. No carry in of outside alcohol permitted.
What is your retainer fee to hold a date?
We ask for a 50% non refundable retainer/deposit to book.
Do you allow pets?
Yes, we do allow pets. Contact us for more information on our pet policy.
Do you hold weddings year round?
Now booking winter weddings for teh 2025/2026 wedding season.
Do you have heating and AC?
There are 6 portable AC units in the upstairs barn. The new roof was finished spring of 2024 and insulation was added. These two things have significantly impacted the cooling of the barn for comfortable summer weddings. We also have large barn doors for natural circulation, ceiling fans, wall fans, and industrial fans which help cool the barn in the summer months. Plans for permanent heating and cooling are currently in the works.
We do have two industrial heaters for early spring and late fall weddings to help keep the temperature comfortable should your wedding day be cold.
Do you have wheelchair and handicap access?
Yes, we have a handicap parking, a handicap ramp and bathroom accessibility which meet state code.
Can we leave vehicles overnight?
Yes, guest may leave vehicles overnight. All vehicles must be moved by 10am the following morning.
Do you have catering or vendor restrictions?
We do not have any catering restrictions.
We do not have a preferred vendor list. We are more than happy to suggest vendors that have done a wonderful job in the past that other couples have been happy with.
Can we have a rehearsal on the property?
Yes, we do allow you to come on the property for a rehearsal. Saturday weddings may come and do a short rehearsal on Friday during the Friday weddings dinner while everyone is in the barn.
Can we bring our own alcohol?
No, Poplar Creek Barn has a liquor license and state law prohibits any carry ins.
Do you have a military discount?
Yes. We offer a $250 military discount to brides or grooms in the military. Thank you for your service!
Do you provide outdoor seating for the ceremony?
Yes, we have rustic wood benches for up to 250 and an arbor/arch available to use for weddings at no extra cost. Additional rentals available for a fee.
Where is there a backup plan for outdoor ceremonies in case of inclement weather?
Yes, the ceremony can be up in the main reception hall. The lower level can be used for cocktail hour while tables get rearranged for dinner.
Can you have a DJ or live music?
Yes. Dj and bands are both allowed. All DJs and live band music must end at midnight. We have our own speaker system that can be played after midnight, if needed.
Do you have restrooms?
Yes, we have a men’s and women’s room off the main reception hall.
The salon suite has a private bath and shower.
There are two unisex bathrooms on the main level.
Is there parking?
Yes, we have a main parking lot, a back parking lot, and additional grass parking if needed.
Do you allow events other than weddings?
Yes. We do host other events Sunday-Thursday. Our minimum rental during the weekday is $1000 plus WI state tax. Contact us for more information.
Is there onsite lodging?
No. However, we do have camping options for our couples and their guests. Please contact us to learn more.
What does the staff look like on my wedding day?
Bartenders are provided to you for your event at no extra cost. The amount of bartenders vary on the size of your event but ranges from 1-3. There is an additional support staff that is here throughout the day to tend to basic operations. This includes things like keeping the bar stocked, tending to bathrooms, picking up spills, taking out garbage, starting the fire pit etc. We do have additional staff you can hire to help with things you need. We offer a day of coordinator, dinner service, and more.
